TOUR DETAILS

1.Hotel Pickup:

We'll kick off our day by picking you up from your hotel in Santiago. Get ready to explore the charm of Barrio Sur and indulge in a unique craft beer experience.

2. Lunch at Restaurant "Hasta que te Encontré":

Our first stop will be at Restaurant "Hasta que te Encontré," a traditional "picada" (a place known by locals for its quality service, food, and reasonable prices), where the cozy and familial atmosphere is ever-present. As you immerse yourself in the unique neighborhood ambiance, you can taste dishes like "porotos con rienda" (beans with noodles), "reineta a lo pobre" (fried fish with potatoes, onions, and eggs), "tallarines con salsa" (pasta with sauce), "carne mechada" (shredded beef), or delicious vegetarian options like "Quinotto de Champiñones" (mushroom quinoa) or "Guiso de acelgas" (Swiss chard stew). All set amidst an eclectic decoration full of details from the best years of the 80s and 90s, with a humorous touch that can even be seen in corners like the bathroom.

3. Enjoy the Urban Art of Barrio Matta:

This neighborhood boasts a working-class history like no other place in Santiago. The influence of the "Franklin" Slaughterhouse allowed this area to become the home of many local and foreign families. All these influences are reflected in the diverse pieces of street art seen throughout the neighborhood. Learn about the "Murals for Matta" project by Francisca Vilches, a resident of the area, and how it connects with the identity of this sector.

4. Visit to the Asilo Hermanitas de los Pobres nursing home:

As part of our cultural experience, we'll visit the imposing Asilo Hermanitas de los Pobres in Barrio Matta Sur and its adjacent square, "Alicia Cáceres." Here, we'll have the opportunity to interact with those in charge of the restoration project of this building, declared a historical conservation property in 2012, built in 1892 and learn about the implications this monument has for the sector.

5. Visit to the Classic "Cités:

One of the highlights of this sector of Santiago is its classic "cités," constructions dating back to the early 1920s, which reflect the quality of life in this area. During our tour, we'll get to explore facilities such as the Tocornal cité, the Gacitúa Plaza cité, known as the "largest cité in Chile," and the group of cités known as "Aurelio Pozo."

6. Visit to "Alameda Beer Company" and "SPOH" Breweries:

After enjoying an entertaining stroll through the neighborhood, we'll wrap up our day by visiting the local breweries "Alameda Beer Company" and "SPOH," two of the most prominent breweries in Santiago today. We'll sample varieties such as the "IPA CSM," "Fibonacci," or "Pi," a beer with only 3.14° of alcohol.

7. Return to the Hotel:

After an enjoyable day exploring Barrio Matta Sur, our transportation will pick us up to take us back to the hotel for some rest.
